Simulation 101 Software: Workshop and
Beyond

Abstract:
This pre-conference workshop is designed for newcomers
to Monte Carlo and Discrete-Event Simulation. The target audience for the
workshop consists of managers, computer scientists, and engineers with C
programming skills, but with little or no familiarity with probability,
statistics, and simulation. Familiarity with C programming is required. The
workshop places heavy emphasis on intuition associated with simulation. This
is accomplished by running through the conceptual, algorithmic, and
implementation portions of the development of several simple Monte Carlo and
discrete-event simulation models.
